About Sophie
Sophie Russell is a music producer, musician and artist based in Leeds, U.K. She began producing her own music using Ableton Live from 2019 under the artist name Cherry Seraph, creating electronic music with influences of alt pop. She released her debut self-produced EP in 2021, with ongoing releases that have been featured by BBC Introducing, Plastic Magazine and Obscure Sound. She also continues to be mentored by Liina Turtonen of YouTube channel LNA Does Audio Stuff.
When she isn't creating her own music, she enjoys listening and expanding upon a broad range of genres. Sophie's background is as a classically trained flautist and saxophonist who regularly performed in orchestras both within, and outside, the U.K. Classical music remains an important influence, even within the electronic music she creates. She has had an active role in helping to lead Ableton Live workshops at Deer Shed Festival, Bradford Music Month and a delivery of a further workshop affiliated with Yorkshire Sound Women Network.
